Marielle Talfviir was a respected chemist in her homeland of Kyonin. Alongside her husband Twyllean Siannodel, they both furthered natural sciences studies and tried refining an unifying theory tying together with arcane knowledges.
That was, until the day when disaster struck, and the reactive concoctions in their lab caught on fire, causing inmensurable harm to the township. Twyllean lost his life protecting Marielle, and she found herself lost after causing so much pain to her loved ones.
In her moments of weakness, an alluring and soothing voice called out to her, and imparted on her that no life is lost without meaning. It offered her a new purpose - a reason to carry on. Marielle accepted the pact, recycling Twyllean's soul in the body of a familiar forged in the pact.
Marielle tried everything in her power to restore her husband to his former self, to no avail. Her last desperate attempt now finds her leaving the old world behind in hopes of finding a glimmer of hope, while unknowingly following the will of her Patron to further their own goals.
