The Journey to the Speaker's Lord - Al-Fa'el

We started our journey at the Guild's behest chasing a sighting of the Speaker in the Desert of Rydess, the Queen of the Desert. We were beset by some angry air terrorists...I mean geese... on the way, but other than that it was smooth walking but the real difficulty came in tracking down where exactly this cavern in a sand dune would be found. It's like searching for a single grain of sand in...well a desert haha, but finally we came across it.

Plenty of tracks of bugbear origin helped find the entrance and then once inside there was a beautiful grand foyer or shrine of some sort, time has been unkind to it, but one can imagine the sheer grandiosity of what it once was. Spring waters still flowed and led through a grand doorway.

Well we didn't have much time before two earthen boulders, elementals I think, attacked us. Luckily the group made quick work of them with Yazhu and Xinyue being a flurry of blows and arrows betwixt them.

We rested a bit Doc healing us up and then continued our way. I shall include a map in my writing of this to reference back to as basically we just wandered until we found our way fighting off mephits and grasping vines throughout. Eventually we found an petrified dragon that had in its clutches a royal treasure chest and in that treasure chest wouldn't you know it? Treasure. And an artifact of some sort of rod.

We continued along underwater thanks to Doc's waterbreathing spell and came out at some sort of ritual site. The rest of the party started inspecting stuff so I joined and pulled out the Rod that we had found to see if it fit in any sort of crevice. Apparently that's where I went wrong.

The pulling of the rod summoned an entity known as Al-Fa'el, here's our conversation:

"Julhand avhaav ukacrun nauk-lic"

"U N H A N D  T H A T  S A C R E D  R E L I C"

"Well good sir, I must ask why it is that you need it? I am not personally against handing it over, but I would like a little context. We just found it in a dragon's clutches"

"You are known to me now, servant Brishan. You stand before Al-Fa'el." the genie boasts like his name means something - though if it did, its been lost to the ages of the world "Surveyors...which lord do you serve, then, to survey my realm? You have the shapes of new and old servants, like that Speaker." The genie hasn't quite eased up his posture, and his lack of hospitality is still very much an unspoken threat.

"It is an honor to be in your presence o Al-Fa'el, I personally serve the lord known as knowledge, though it has been known as many different things throughout the ages. Our actual journey to your lands pertains to the Speaker you just mentioned, the Speaker has been sending undead bugbears into the lands we inhabit and we wished to find out why and if there's any sort of agreement we could come to to not have that happen anymore."

"Ah. Another fool, like that dragon before you." He stares at his reflection in his falchion. Like a judge happily signing an execution warrant "Our servant the Speaker goes where the noble lords bid her. And she seeks relic and tomb both. A relic thought to be stolen by dragons..." He sneers, glaring again at Brishan "And you do not know her, do not stand with her, our legion. That makes you an outsider, and even beyond the pleasure of conversation, i'm bound to act. the sentence is death, friend."

He then struck me down, but Doc revived me and I recalled alongside my companions.
