Loose Threads - Blackhearts are a major threat

Short summary: We followed our intel to track down the Blackhearts.  They are on an island which was turning plants into animals and animals into plants.  It had some effects on us but we did not stay for long enough to have massive effects.  On the island the blackhearts were controlling large hordes of the mutant demon eyes with an instrument that looked like a large flute.  After retrieving one of these and exploring more we found a massive city of the Blackhearts with too many to even attempt to fight so we recalled home.

Full Report

"Well let's start with some background.  These blackhearts came to destroy mess with people I like in Fuck the Blackhearts.  I could not sit around and just let them attack us from wherever they were from so I set up this expedition to take them out.  Gu got that intel for me.  They came from the Dread Citadel, part of a mountain chain on Black Rock Island south-west of First Landing."

"We got a ride most of the way there with the help of the fae, specifically a datyr named Briella.  The crew was too cowardly to get near the shore though, so we had to paddle the  last mile or so.  Thinking about reminds me how I hate the taste of salt water.  We should get more reliable ships for First Landing.  Guess their caution retroactively made sense, as right when we landed we were attacked by large crawling plants and a large mass of fungal humanoids.  The island did not get any more normal as well explored.  Plants moved like animals and the insects were mutated.  Multiple eyes, flying wolf worms, and mouthless creatures were abundant."

"Heard the blackhearts before we saw them.  Let us get a drop on them.  First group seemed to be a man training a large massive of the meat/metal eyeballs to fight in formation.  The man was also insectile with four metallic legs, controlling the others with a large flute.  After studying them for a bit, we took out ambush and destroyed them all, using silver.  I brough back the magical flute, and already used some of the wood the make myself a magical pendant.  I could play it by hitting the ground with it, but doubt I could control any of the demons with it."

"The night passed by without interruption, but we did seem more mutated creatures.  All unique in their own ways.  My favorite was the squirrel with spider legs.  It was cute and very fast.  It ate the seeds I gave it like a normal squirrel would.  Next day our skin was a bit stretchy.  That was especially weird on Sir Oldie's carapace.  Regina had the worse of it though.  She started to grow a tail, although I am unsure if it was going to be made of bone or branch."

""Further in we travelled, until we found a well travelled cave entrance.  Inside was a blackheart, who was guarding the city we latter learned.  Like all blackhearts, he was not interested in talk, so we took him down with more silver.  This one covered the field with magical darkness and got into some our minds who would lash out at anyone near them.  Deeper in the cave we saw the problem.  A city is deep in those mountains and it is full of blackhearts.  An uncountable number of Augurs and a good dozen of their masters noticed us and forced us to recall."

"I do not know what to do about this threat.  Keeping them contained in the cave would be best, but anyone sent to an outpost on the island would mutate."
