The Vitruvian

Character Page: The Vitruvian

Domains: Water, Healing, Liminality

Unlike the other entities, the Vitruvian wasn't sealed. It was slain, utterly destroyed till naught but a corpse remained. Or at least, that' what the Dragons hoped. As it turns out, you can never truly kill a deity. The Vitruvian, largely a powerless corpse, still remains to influence its immediate surroundings.

More information on the Viturvian's end was learnt during the events of Whispers of Dying and When the Void Blinks (5 times).... The dragons attacked an island in the Frozen North, inhabited by Halflings who worshipped the Vitruvian. A ritual devised by the Dragon Vanem forced the Vitruvian to incarnate. The Vitruvian's arrival was accompanied by a cataclysm that shattered the island and annihilated many lesser dragons. The surviving dragons aided by Atreia, the Lambent King, overwhelmed the Vitruvian, "killing" him. Vanem devised an impromptu ritual to seal the Vitruvian's avatar. It is speculated that this ritual was be taught to other dragons who used to seal the other entities. A dragon named She-Who-Brings-The-Cataclysm-In-Times-Of-Peace was mentioned. It is unknown if this is the same dragon as Vanem, or someone else.

The relief made by the Drow of Zar-Mother depicted this creature, high above the other entities: a gargantuan creature, sea green in color, creating other creatures. It had waves for ribs and currents for arms. Around its legs, several smaller humanoids seemed to transform into fish, coral and other aquatic life. Perhaps this was the Vitruvian, but it is not yet understood why it was placed so far above the rest.

In the present era, the Vitruvian was encountered by the Guild during the events of Shadows of my past and Looking for the Vitr... iolic nature of the new world submarine ecosystem. Guild adventurer Zia became a cleric of the Entity during the latter, abandoning her previous deity, Ragadahn, in the process. Zia, however, claims to support the other entities' confinement, citing concerns that they might harm the Vitruvian in his weakened state if unsealed.

The Vitruvian's corpse lies somewhere deep in the ocean, surrounded by rotting dragon corpses. If one suddenly finds oneself in a pool of endless water, they might be inside the Vitruvian's mindspace. Exercise caution if so. A dead god is still a god.

Seals

A seal of the Vitruvian lies on an island in the The Frozen North discovered in Whispers of Dying.
