Arken the Great is the magi-tech revolutionary of Blackrock. Many trace the city's current fortunes back to his many inventions, and see them as a both unifying force for Blackrock, as well as the key to its economic success. In fact, many of Blackrock's modern industries have sprung up around inventions made, and devices created by Arken.
The most obvious sign of Arken's influence is Arken's Tower. A great pillar reaching into the sky from the City Center, capturing cosmic magic above, and turning it into useful energy for the city's use. This captured energy too, keeps the Dreamlands afloat.
Arken's death caused a great deal of mourning among Blackrock's population, and the day is remembered to date.
