The Batalhão de Operações Especiais Secretas (Secret Special Operations Battalion in Portuguese) - usually shortened to the acronym BOES - is the premier vampire-hunting organisation of Brazil. One of the founding members of the Coalition, the BOES has been waging a shadow war against supernatural forces for decades - often without any outside support. Only recently have they begun to extend their operations outside the Republic of Brazil, enjoying close ties to the Society of Leopold thanks to their home country's deeply Catholic roots.
BOES hunters often informally refer to their units as "As Sagradas" ("Os Sagrados" if masculine), or "The Sacred Ones".
