Kitsuki Jiro was a promising samurai of the Unicorn Clan, stationed in Toshi Ranbo as part of the Unicorn’s tenuous relationship with the Lion Clan. While serving in the city, Jiro fell deeply in love with a woman of low birth, an eta beneath his station. The relationship was frowned upon, but he pursued it with reckless passion. When a local Lion samurai, Akodo Haruto, discovered their affair, an altercation followed. A heated argument turned into a duel, and Jiro killed Haruto in the process.
