Life in the Sea

Some of Oceanyka's peoples can be described as naval societies. This strong connection to the sea means many of these people spend more time at sea than at land over their lives. Oceanykan sailors are experienced and pragmatic. The sea is very romanticised in their culture. Life at sea is usually calm and boring, but naval fights (even between fishing vessels) are rather common. Crews of the bigger ships enjoy a certain prestige in sailor's culture. The Floating Fortress’ crews specially are hailed as heroes in many places.
