The Avenger-class is a type of small aircraft carrier operated by both the British and American navies during WW2. The original designs were modified C3-class cargo ships, though later Oceanykan examples are built as carriers from the start. Avenger-class carriers can carry up to 15 aircraft.
As a light aircraft carrier, the Avenger-class can project firepower way beyond the range of any naval artillery. With advances in jet-powered aircraft and guided missiles, the light carrier has only become deadlier and more important.
