Electronics are manufactured parts which operate using electricity, managing great volumes of energy or information at high speeds. These are the cornerstone of a new revolution in computing, robotics and consumer products. Cables, transistors, resistors, capacitors, switches and diodes, as well as tiny non-specialised batteries, circuits and electric motors, can all be classified as "electronic parts" and are usually purchased in bulk.

Oceanyka has one major weakness that has kept it back in time and will get progressively worse over the years: defficient domestic production of electronics. Unlike the weapons of the World Wars which could be easily copied because of all the chaos, like the fission bomb, modern electronics are too novel and complex to just "obtain the blueprints" and have a go at it. Therefore, only a few of these are being produced in Oceanyka each year, with most of the revenue slipping outside its borders. The invisible hand of the free market and the Council itself, are trying to end this "Electronic Crisis" as soon as possible, by establishing new manufacturing plants, taking advantage of Oceanyka's strong electrical engineering talent pool and an abundance of resources such as copper.
