The Crimson Age, named after the deep red imagery used by the Oceanykan Peoples' Party, has been short, and yet, has had much to deal with. It is squarely within the greatest conflict between superpowers in human history, the Cold War, of which The Oceanykan Federation is now a major participant as a prominent ally of the Eastern Bloc ⚒️. This is a complete turn-around from the western-aligned foreign policy of the prior government, bound to have consequences and opposition from the old guard. Furthermore, the beginning of several national projects such as the formation of a professional Red Navy and the great works of the Bass Strait Naval Complex, threaten the council members' autonomy and independence.
The country's political scene is tense, horrors unseen since the Oceanykan Civil War could easily return, made a hundred times worse due to the Atomic Age's deadly technological advances. Even without these internal pressures, Oceanyka faces the possibility of Earth's most dangerous rivalry between East and West becoming World War III, a conflict the country would be unlikely to survive. In the shadows, a battle is continuously fought to hold back Oceanyka's darkest secrets, which if ignored too long in favour of grander affairs could roll over the world's status quo like a dark tide.
