The Kalashnikov SMG-47 is a 7.62x25mm Tokarev submachinegun designed, produced and marketed by Kalashnikov Inc. in Oceanyka and for the Oceanykan market. It closely resembles the AKS-47 in its operating mechanism but toned town for a pistol calibre. As far as SMGs go, it is actually pretty well-manufactured and ergonomic, owing largely to the competitive (by Oceanykan standards) manufacturing quality of Kalashnikov Inc. It is also highly modular and can be found in gun stores across the continent in various other calibres, such as 9x19mm Parabellum, .380 ACP and even .45 ACP. Due to its success, the Soviet Red Army has begun trials to issue this weapon to a number of specialised personnel such as police officers, the Spetsnaz and high-profile security.
