Invented in 1962 by Mitsubishi Motors Australia to exploit local conditions in lieu of the Oil Crisis, the Atom Rider is a truck that uses Nuclear Fuel. Unlike the newer Holden NELT it uses a bulkier, but far safer engine that only leaves space for a driver and two passengers. However, it does have significant weight carrying capacity when used as a semi-truck. The Atom Rider is slowly gaining ground as Uranium mining operations expand, nuclear technology develops and oil prices soar. Though it has significant disadvantages, the Atom Rider can travel almost indefinitely with regular maintenance and some spare parts.
