The Heckler & Koch G3 is a German battle rifle developed in the late 1950s by Heckler & Koch in collaboration with the Spanish CETME and chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. It uses a roller-delayed blowback operating system and is renowned for its robustness, reliability, accuracy and ease of maintenance under harsh conditions. The G3A3 version with grenade rifle adapter and polymer furniture is the most modern variant of this weapon, and the standard to which most rifles in German service have already been upgraded to. Widely adopted by numerous armed forces around the world, the G3's modular design allows for easy customization and adaptation to various combat scenarios. It is currently replacing older battle rifles such as the Gewehr 43, and even assault rifles such as the Sturmgewehr 45.
