Thump-Thump
M79s are known by many nicknames. "Bloop gun" and "thumper" are the most common due to its unique sound report, which resembles a cork being pulled out of a bottle. However, amongst American troops in Vietnam, it has gained a more sombre reputation: "the platoon leader's artillery". This weapon's user can spend one Stamina Point to fire and reload thrice as Reaction Fire in rapid succession.
The M79 grenade launcher, affectionately known by it's troops as the "Thumper" or the "Bloop Gun", is a single-shot break-action grenade launcher which fires 40x46mm low velocity grenades at enemy targets, through direct or indirect fire. It was created to boost the firepower of US troops, especially in terrain depressions and hard cover where only mortars were able to reach in. The M79 has been in service with the US Armed Forces since 1961. Despite significantly augmenting a squad's firepower, the M79's most serious flaw is its single-shot nature, which does not allow for continued fire. Throughout the mid-1960s thousands of M79s have made their way to the Oceanykan market, considered a versatile tool which is capable of targeting formations and large beasts with more efficacy than a rifle.
