Firearm projectiles made of pure lead are known as cast bullets. The first of these was the French Minié ball, which revolutionised ballistics. These are cheap and easy to produce, requiring nothing more than a mold and some lead (which can be molten at a campfire). Furthermore, many ancient calibres and cartridges simply cannot be found in any other form, and a good percentage of them must be handloaded by the shooter. Otherwise, modern jacketed bullets are superior in all performance metrics.

Cast ammunition can be manufactured using basic materials in the field. However, most modern firearms shoot high velocity bullets which require a copper jacket to engage with the barrel rifling. This is not a problem with black powder guns and shotguns.

When firing solid cast bullets from a Shotgun ⚡, act as if it were a Rifled Slug, though suffering from a Hard DM to all hit rolls.
