The eta is a marsupial mammal native to Oceanyka. It is similar to a llama in exterior appearance but possesses large, pointy hooves which helps it traverse mountainous terrain (the eta is indigenous to the Great Dividing Range). These hooves are very sturdy and sharp, allowing an eta to stab an attacker in self-defence. Their shape also allows outrunning a few predators. Eta are grass-eating herbivores and very adaptable to climate, being found natively in all of Oceanyka's mountain ranges, as well as any other place where they can graze, courtesy of local animal husbandry. They have been used by the local population for their many utilities since the Neolithic Era. These animals produce Milk, Wool and Meat but are not particularly efficient at any of the three. Furthermore, their disposition is obedient and relaxed around humans. Such versatility and resilience have allowed them to compete with more specialised but weaker animals from abroad, like swine or cattle.
This creature has a remarkably resilient digestive system and is immune to diseases caused by eating raw meat or uncooked veggies. Rotten food will still poison them, but less so.
This creature’s body is great at regulating their energy output, thus granting them resistance to Hungry.
This creature is capable of being saddled and ridden, either for transport or battle.
When riding into an Engagement, it is the animal's MOV stat that is used for all tactical manoeuvres, unless the rider chooses to dismount.
Actions that involve movement and STA expenditure, such as Sprint (1 APS) or Charge (2 APS), use this creature's STA pool instead of the rider's.
This creature is used to the freezing mountains and arctic blizzards; they are immune to Hypothermic.
