Coffee beans, obtained from the Coffee Plant and used primarily to brew Coffee, undergo a number of processes before reaching its consumers. Upon harvest, coffee cherries are typically either dry-processed, where they are dried with the fruit intact, or wet-processed, involving removal of the outer layers to access the beans. Following processing, the beans are usually sorted to eliminate defects and ensure consistent quality. Subsequently, the beans are roasted to develop flavour profiles, with the degree of roasting influencing taste and aroma. Though they can be sold just roasted, on most occasions the beans are then ground into various particle sizes to suit different brewing methods. Oceanyka's coffee industry is significant, though most of it is export-oriented as it is decidedly a tea-drinking nation, primarily towards the Soviet Union (a major consumer of coffee).
