The Nudelman-Rikhter N-23 is a Soviet 23mm autocannon designed by A.E. Nudelman and A. A. Richter during the 1940s. It utilized a short-recoil mechanism for firing and had an enormous rate of fire, which allowed it to engage its intended target (enemy fighters). The NR-23 was used to great effect against American jet fighters during the Korean War, serving onboard bleeding-edge Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (Fagot) jet fighters loaned to North Korea.
