The Object 172M-1 is a prototype Soviet MBT later designated as the T-72A. Despite being a wartime mass production model, the Object 172M-1 presents various technological innovations which its predecessor, the Object 172M (T-72), did not possess. The most important of these are a laser rangefinder, an electronic fire control system, mountings for Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) and reinforced turret Composite Armour, nicknamed "Dolly Parton" by NATO intelligence for its notably puffy appearance.

Apocalypse Riders - Soviet Tanks (NF)

Soviet military design bureaus began prioritising NBC survivability, low maintenance and vehicle autonomy in the battlefields of Europe, which were expected to become nucleochemical hellscapes within hours of war being declared, from the 1970s onwards.

Unique Attributes

Monster of the Urals - T-72 UA

The T-72 would form the backbone of the Soviet Army during the devastating conflicts of the late 20th century, particularly World War III. Though vastly improved over the years, its armour was no match for many technologically advanced NATO weapons and suicidal aggression was often demanded of Soviet tankers.

EFFECT:
This tank and its crew gain the Dreadnought attribute.
