Some weapons in the Great War were used to great effect to break the stalemates of trench warfare. Assault units made up of specially trained stormtroopers from both sides of the battlefield would jump into the other's defences, putting the fight up close and personal.
The MP 28/II is a German submachinegun chambered for a wide variety of calibres, though it is most often found in 9x19mm Parabellum. It is essentially an improved version of the MP 18, designed almost a decade later as an export gun for the international arms market (though it was purchased in large quantities by the German government itself). The MP 28/II includes a fire selector and a bayonet mount. Additionally, instead of the somewhat unreliable Luger P08 32-round snail magazines issued with the MP 18, this model uses conventional 20, 30 and 32-round box magazines. MP 28s are actually easier to find today than their predecessors owing to their commercial success.
