The Ross rifle is an Anglo-American straight-pull bolt action rifle chambered in .303 British that was produced before and during the Great War. Initially designed by Sir Charles Ross, it was intended as an alternative to the British-made Lee-Enfield rifle. The Ross Mk III is a military model with design choices optimised for mass production and wartime use. However, its close chamber tolerances, lack of primary extraction, and length made the general design unsuitable for trench warfare conditions, malfunctioning often when fed poor-quality ammunition. By 1916, the rifle had been withdrawn from front-line service, but its exceptional accuracy led many Canadian snipers to continue using it until this very day.

Sir Ross' Finnicky Wonder
The Ross Rifle is praised for its unerring accuracy... though it is a damsel of a gun. If this rifle is clean, fed quality ammunition, zeroed and maintained, this weapon gains a Very Easy DM to hit rolls at Medium Range and beyond. Were these conditions not to be met, this weapon gains 5 UNRELIABILITY.
