The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (COMECON) is an Eastern Bloc economic alliance built upon the foundations of the now defunct Fourth Eurasian Communist International (COMINTERN). Its primary goal is to help facilitate trade and finances between the world's communist, socialist and syndicalist nations, and although its organs are highly decentralised, COMECON's headquarters is located in Moscow and its administrative language is Russian. COMECON is largely responsible for the fast recovery and rapid industrialisation of the eastern world. Surprisingly enough, COMECON organises a great deal of trade with the Western Bloc 🦅, since it is considered a reliable intermediary on both sides, preventing fraud and ensuring relative fairness.
