A field dressing is a piece of medical equipment that is used to treat Bleeding wounds. It consists of a sterilised gauze fit with an absorbing padding and, usually, a clip or velcro to secure the dressing. When fit properly, a field dressing can radically slow down or even completely stop even profuse bleeding.
