The Volcanic Godsword is the legendary two-handed weapon of the ancient Ferozen Warlords. Forged from solid meteoric iron and tempered in molten basalt flows, each blade bears a distinctive black sheen marbled with silvery streaks of iron crystal. The weapon’s immense mass and thick central spine grant it extraordinary cutting power and durability, though at the cost of speed and agility. Wielding one demands superhuman strength: most soldiers could scarcely lift it, let alone swing it effectively.
These swords were wielded only by the mightiest of the Ferozen; chieftains, warlords, and heroes believed to be descended from Aster himself. On the battlefield, a single swing could cleave through multiple foes or shatter shields outright. Imperial forces dreaded the sight of a Godsword raised against them, for its reach and momentum could devastate entire ranks.
According to legend, the master smiths of the Tasmanian Highlands smelted the blades directly in volcanic lava rivers, imbuing them with “the breath of the mountain.” Whether mystical or merely metallurgical, the process rendered the blades almost unbreakable and faintly warm to the touch, even after centuries.
