Oceanyka's great beasts are often killed not because of their produce or for cruelty. Often it is because of the existential danger they present to local communities, for the mortal thrill of the hunt, or simply as part of a paid contract. Trophies are often fashioned from their carcass as a sign of prestige. While trophies are utterly useless as a manufacturing material, many people will pay vast sums of money for one.
