The Republic of Singapore is one of the youngest countries in the world, created in 1965 as part of the Independence of Singapore Agreement with The Malaysian Federation. Despite the conflict that originated its separation, Singapore and Malaysia maintain cordial relations with each other. After its independence, Singapore quickly reorganised itself to become one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is currently led by President Lee Kuan Yew, a man that claims to have that iron within him, and a single mission: to transform the mudflat swamp into a modern city.
