The Kingdom of Thailand is an independent state in Southeast Asia. It is nominally a monarchy under King Bhumibol Adulyadej. However, true power lies within a military junta headed by Prime Minister Thanom Kittikachorn, an authoritarian military officer closely aligned with the Western Bloc 🦅. Thailand currently serves as an important hub for western forces embroiled in the Vietnam War, though it faces communist insurgencies of its own.
