Lughrin Worldshoulders

🪓 Lughrin Worldshoulders

God of Earth, Craft, and Lawful Industry
Dwarven Patron of Architecture, Mining, and Subterranean Civilization
Alignment: Lawful

📜 Lore & Origin

Lughrin Worldshoulders is the Father of Foundations, the Stonewright, the first to shape the deep rock with purpose. He is said to have carved the first dwarven city with his chisel and compass, etching runes of law and geometry into the bones of the world. It is whispered that the mountains themselves rest upon his back.

Lughrin is a lesser god, but among dwarves he holds absolute reverence, especially in times of crisis or construction. When the dwarves of the prison-world first realized the bleak depths of their new home, it was Lughrin they turned to—to plan, to tunnel, and to endure.

🏔️ Depiction

Lughrin appears as an ancient, mountain-like dwarf with a massive granite beard braided into chiseled geometric patterns. His cloak resembles the layers of the earth, and his hammer-hand is fused with a stone-carving chisel. Upon his brow rests a compass-crown of unbreakable mithril, its arms always pointing true.

In art, he is often portrayed carving a hall from raw stone, his feet planted deep into the earth, with glowing runes illuminating his path forward.

🛕 Worship & Doctrine

  • Temples: Grand halls hewn directly into mountainsides or subterranean vaults, supported by flawless stone pillars and adorned with precision-cut symbols of dwarven craft.

  • Clergy Titles: Stonebinders, Earthwrights, Vaultmasters

  • Holy Days: The Groundbreaking (the start of a great construction), The Last Brick (the completion of a major work)

  • Holy Symbol: A chisel crossed with a compass, often set in a hexagon

  • Sacred Animal: None—Lughrin reveres craft above creatures, but some dwarves revere the rock badger as a totem of industry

⚒️ Tenets of the Faithful

Clerics and followers of Lughrin must:

  • Record all measurements and plans before construction.

  • Never deface or destroy stonework without purpose.

  • Always ensure what is built is built to last.

  • Teach others the craft, but punish those who desecrate it.

  • Honor the stone beneath all things, for it bears the weight of the world.
