Appearance and Mannerisms (Player-Facing Description)
A tall, narrow-shouldered man with wild, bedraggled red hair that curls and clings as if licked by static. His pale face is stretched too tight over his bones, giving his cheeks a sunken, skeletal look—like someone who has forgotten how food works. His eyes are wide, vividly blue, and ringed with red veins, constantly darting between you, the ceiling, and the space just behind your shoulder.
He wears a robe of heavy black velvet, embroidered in silver sigils that shimmer faintly even without light. It might have once been ceremonial, but it's now wine-stained, threadbare at the cuffs, and clinging to his thin frame like a wet curtain. A chain with a jade medallion marked “D” swings loosely around his neck like a badge he forgot he was wearing.
When he speaks, his voice is soft and theatrical—like a stage actor trying to remain calm during a fire. It trembles with barely-restrained excitement or fear, or both. He laughs often, especially at things no one else finds funny. His chuckle is dry, like brittle leaves skittering on stone.
“Ah-ha! You blinked! That’s how they get you, you know.”
He gestures with long, bony fingers, twiddling his hands in midair as if he's still weaving spells—or trying to grab invisible thoughts out of the air. He never walks directly toward anyone, preferring slow arcs or circling steps, always keeping multiple exits in sight.
He often murmurs half-sentences under his breath—riddles, recitations, or forgotten shopping lists:
“Black tile, white tile, dream of spiders… hmm... is it still Tuesday?”
He is either intensely focused or utterly distracted, with no warning for when the shift will come. He stares too long. He flinches at sudden movements. And every so often, he touches the mirror shards in his sleeve-pocket like they’re worry beads.
