🏰 Silverleaf Inn (Tavern & Lodging)
Location: Ember, nestled near the cliffside trail to the Ashen Fens
Owner: Baelvain Silverleaf (Elven Adventurer, retired ranger)
✨ Overview
Known as the "beating heart of Ember," The Silverleaf Inn is a two-story stone-and-timber structure with deep elven roots and weathered charm. Lanterns glow with soft faerie fire, casting golden hues over worn tables, hunting trophies, and an enormous hearth carved with ivy motifs. The scent of oak smoke, herbs, and roasted meat clings to the air.
🍻 Tavern Level – The Ground Floor
This bustling hub is a gathering place for villagers, travelers, and the occasional bard. The layout features:
-
The Great Hearth: A massive, enchanted stone fireplace that never goes out. Baelvain claims it’s lit with a spark from a phoenix feather. Patrons gather here to warm their bones, trade tales, or snooze between rounds.
-
The Main Bar: Polished walnut with silverleaf inlay. Baelvain’s gnome assistant, Picklefern, tends bar, known for flipping mugs without spilling and gossiping like a pixie.
-
Dining Area: Long tables and mismatched chairs. A chalkboard menu hangs from a beam:
-
“Stew o’ the Day” (contains meat… probably)
-
Buttered turnips
-
Thick-crusted bread and sharp cheese
-
“Old Ember Ale” or Silverleaf Starlight Mead (light, floral, faintly glowing)
-
-
Private Booths & Dice Table: Tucked corners where shady deals and love affairs bloom. The dice table is watched by Baelvain’s owl familiar, Glim, who hoots at cheaters.
🛏️ Lodging – Upper Floor
A creaky staircase leads to the second level of the inn:
-
Common Bunk Loft: A long, drafty hall lined with curtained bunk beds (12 total). Comes with:
-
One drink of choice (no substitutions!)
-
One bowl of stew (same rule)
-
A washbasin and access to the communal bath (lukewarm at best)
