🌿 Ghost Pipe

Pale parasitic plant of the Seeping Waste

Type: Rare Herb (Alchemical / Medicinal)
Habitat: Swamp, especially around the Ziggurat of Khalitharius


📖 Description

A fragile, waxy-white plant that grows in small clusters, resembling a drooping pipe or pale bell. It has no leaves or green pigment, instead drawing life from the roots of surrounding vegetation. The flowers glow faintly silver under moonlight, making them easiest to spot at night.


🧪 Properties

  • Medicinal Use: When properly harvested and prepared, Ghost Pipe can be made into poultice wraps that restore hit points

  • Rarity: The plant grows in the swamp in places of strife. Wherever friends quarrel or blood is spilt, Ghost Pipe may spring up overnight.

  • Parasitic Nature: Feeds on the roots of other plants, but in the Seeping Waste it thrives on soil infused with elemental magic around the ziggurat.


🌙 Harvesting

  • Time: Can only be harvested at night, when its sap rises with moonlight.

  • Ritual: A special Knollsmen rite must be performed: a whispered chant, burning of swamp sage, and a symbolic offering of blood (1 HP).

  • Failure: If harvested in daylight or without the ritual, the plant turns black and writhes like burning paper, crumbling into soot and inflicting 1 damage to the harvester from a sudden burning sting.

  • Said to be the “flower of sorrow,” blooming where arguments turn to violence.

  • The Ashen Knollsmen believe each stalk is a soul’s pain taking root in the world.

  • Whispered to be  belong to Khalitharius himself, drinking sorrow as fuel for fire.
