Formerly known as Fort Szarrog, Fort Zombie was built atop goblinoid foundations from before humanity’s arrival on the continent. During King Jarot’s reign, Fort Szarrog grew in importance through its position on the lightning rail line between Vedykar and Gatherhold, with the surrounding town and farms enjoying the riches brought by trade. Prior to the war breaking out, Prince Kaius bulked up the military presence at this inland fort, a move that drew little attention at the time but was a clear intimation of the conspiracy to contest Mishann’s coronation. The fort continued to serve an important role throughout the war as the central command for Karrnath’s assaults against Metrol. The outlying farms were destroyed by the ceaseless machine of war, but since the war’s end the crown has begun to support efforts to repurpose the land towards food production.
