Outside the walls of Stormreach, nomadic giant tribes occupy a shifting tent city called Rushemé. The Black Iron, a smithy run by a family of half-giants, serves as a trading post for people wanting to deal with the giants for goods and information. It is also the only place in the city that deals in equipment, armor, and weapons sized for larger creatures. For PCs returning with giant-sized plunder from the Xen’drik ruins, the Black Iron is a necessary stop.

Primarily a smithy, Black Iron also deals in a variety of goods designed for Large and Huge creatures. It is a center for trade with the giants living in the outlying tent city of Rushemé, and it provides adventurers with a place to unload treasures of unusual size found in the ruins of Xen’drik.

A family of half-giants runs Black Iron. The venerable patriarch Hular (N male half-giant magewright 6/commoner 6) is a master smith, but age is taking its toll on him. His youngest daughter Solarca (CG female half-giant fighter 4/psychic warrior 2) has the spirit of an adventurer. She might seek to join parties investigating the ruins of the giants or strike out on her own in a quest to steal a husband from the half-giants of Dar Qat.

This smithy is run by a family of half-giants. It buys and sells goods designed for both Large and Huge creatures and often trades with the giants of The Tents of Rusheme. In addition to selling excellent goods, the smiths are happy to prepare people to deal with the Rushemé giants.

Black Iron is run by the smith Hular (N male halfgiant magewright 6/commoner 6), one of the best in the city. He can produce armor and weapons with an enhancement bonus of up to +2. He runs the smithy efficiently, but age is taking its toll. He is preparing his children to take over the business, but his youngest daughter, Solarca (CG female half-giant fighter 4/psychic warrior 2), is eager to live a more adventure-filled life. She might seek to join a group investigating the ruins of the giants, or strike out on her own in a quest to steal a husband from the half-giants of Dar Qat. If her ambitions lack an outlet, she might turn to the Titans.
