Situated just south of the Iceflow River Delta, the town of Ice sits on a particularly wide and easy part of the river. Traffic between the town and ships anchored in Karrn Bay is the primary way goods are exchanged between the duchy and the wider world.

River Spirits

Life in Ice is possible due to long-standing negotiations with the local spirits, including the spirit of the Iceflow River, Lyodnica. In exchange for annual, ritualized sacrifices, the spirits continue to bless the town with good conditions. However, continued industrial development might threaten this relationship, posing unforeseen risks to the town and the region that depends on it.

Icehold

The seat of the duchy is a heavily fortified keep in the center of town. Ice, of course, has never been seriously threatened by an outside force, but the ir’Loran family has nonetheless taken it upon themselves to turn their home into a fortress. On the inside are displays of remarkable wealth, including an entire taxidermized wooly rhino slain by Starovolkov ir’Loran, the legendary swordsman who trained Jarot ir’Wynarn.
