Plaguelands

Ex-Nation

The land is barren, with the ground being covered in black sands and ash. The trees are twisted and withered, their branches reaching out like gnarled fingers. The sky is a permanent shade of grey, and the air is thick with a sense of foreboding. The very earth seems to be poisoned, with the ground cracked and dry, and no signs of life. The undead roam the land, their twisted bodies and empty eyes a constant reminder of the horrors that have befallen this place. The skeletons of long-dead creatures litter the ground, and the eerie silence is only broken by the moans and groans of the undead. The land is also home to powerful necromancers and other dark entities who seek to control the undead and spread death and decay further. The few remaining living creatures in this place are either hardy survivors or wisted monstrosities, corrupted by the malevolent forces that rule this land. It is a place of dread, where the living are constantly on edge and death is always lurking around the corner. That's what has now become of the once powerful nation of Golden Sands.

Geography

Blighted soil covers the dreaded peninsula, infused with toxic magic that withers everything it touches. A large mountain range spans from the middle towards the east coast, made of blighted igneous rocks. Acidic rainfall threatens to corrode everything foreign that enters and those who are unlucky enough, might get to experience the dreadful Unknown before their life ends. The west part of the Plaguelands has dead forests with occasional poisoned rivers. A massive crater in the north, serves as reminder of hubris, part of the chain of events that led to the downfall of the former nation.

Government

No living humanoids rule that land.

Demographics

Aside from bravely foolish adventurers who tread there, every humanoid-looking creature encountered there is believed to be undead.
