Description
Krevor was not satisfied with the result of his and Zeriax's combined creation, the Goblins. They were too small, too weak to be of use in a war. He wanted his soldier to be at the same size if not bigger than the enemies. Despite the size and strength though, the Goblin design was good. Altering it again might have made it non-functional. A lingering feeling for more power bothered Krevor for long time. Until he witnessed the Gith a mutated race of humans made to be stronger in combat. However he had no such powers in his design. After bargaining with Refelia to lend him her Fey energy manipulation in exchange for him helping her create an amphibious race, he got what he wanted. A race that was Goblin enough, but stronger! Thus, the Hobgoblins were created. Hobgoblins are generally taller than their goblin cousins but not quite as big as bugbears. They have curved, pointed ears and noses that turn bright red or blue during displays of emotion. They also were given a more lawful nature, in order to better function as army soldiers. Against his plans, Hobgoblins ended up clashing with Orcs, Zeriax's personal creation, very often, thwarting the two evil gods' plans for power. Later on, many were recruited by the Eratus and integrated into their legions as they had perfect aptitude for soldiers.
Origins
Hogoblins were largely Goblins by design, which means their creation was attributed to Krevor and Zeriax, although the latter did not bother with them.
Genetics
Hobgoblins usually are lawful evil, with warmongering personalities and are naturally amazing soldiers. Those who stray from the path are not very welcomed in the communities anymore and either killed or chased away.

Hobgoblins live a bit less than a century

Reputation
When nations of Caldar speak of "Soldiers of Evil" they usually refer to Hobgoblins. They are seen as the crusaders against civilization and the heralds to ruin. In Eratus they are often recruited and trained to fight alongside their legions. In the Savage Lands, they are one of the two great powers of the south, together with the Orcs.
Alive/Extinct
Hobgoblins exist until the 4th era.
