Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max]

I grew up in a city of Wood Elves carved out of a forest near a medical monastery.

Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max]

Raised initially by my parents, then by the monks at the monastery. At the monastery I had some student friends, but was closer to my teachers.

How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max]

As a child, I had trouble making friends and relating to kids my own age, but was close with my parents. When I went to the monastery I continued to have trouble relating to my peers but found it easier to talk to the teachers and master monks. In my medical training, I had difficulty with my bedside manner, but I began to excel at my martial arts training as I spent more time with my masters.

What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max]

As a child, I greatly admired my father and the work he did as a doctor, and I chose to follow in his footsteps. I was admitted to the monastery where I was trained in the martial arts as all monks do, but chose medicine as the vocation to follow.

What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max]

I completed my medical and monastic training, and was commissioned to go out into the world healing the sick and defending the weak. I traveled mostly in the elven forest area. Furthermore, I was not old enough or skilled enough to set up my own practice, but I was not looking to be an "adventurer," so I stayed in what would be considered the safe area.

What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max]

During my time in the monastery, our town became the target of a goblin horde. I was called to fight, but also to use my skills as a doctor to heal people. I saw so much pain and death, and caused much of it in battle, that I began to start acting as an angel of death, relieving the suffering of those that might have been healed. When the elders found out, they banished me from our woods. I have since been traveling on my own and occasionally with other groups using my skills.

Which people are important for your character? [75 words max]

My people are important, though I cannot be with them anymore. My comrades in arms and travel are also important, as well as anyone I can heal or relieve of suffering in the form of a merciful death.

Who does your character consider important at the start of the campaign? Name at least 2 other people.

My parents, especially my father the doctor, and the master of my monestary.

What connections does your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max]

None, at the start, I am a stranger to them.

Communicate with the other players and create two positive connections with two other player characters. Could have been friendship, coworkers, family relation or any relation that results in some degree of trust.

Name a promise you have made to another player character that you would never break. [75 words max]

Again communicate and agree on a promise your character has made to one of the two other characters (you have connections to), that you wouldn't break. The other character doesn't have to promise back the same.

If nothing happened, what short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max]

If the world continued in its peaceful state, what would you'd be working for?

I would probably go to work with my father in his medical practice, then struck out on my own.

What makes your character a likeable adventurer that others would be willing to have to risk their lives for? [75 words max]

To ensure that the group doesn't have problematic characters everyone else will hate, tell us why would others trust and like your character as a fellow adventurer.

What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?[75 words, max]

I have little regret over killing goblins as they were attacking my people and our home, but I also killed elves that possibly could have been saved.

Are there any people that would wish harm to your character and why?[100 words max]

My people would never want to see me again and if they did, if I tried to return home, they may offer a more severe punishment than banishment.

Fenvalur was born and raised inside of aldion, sadly he didn't quite get to know his mother or father, the most he saw of one of them was in a cloak with a mask on as they abandoned him and left him in the forest. Luckily he was always quite smart with his actions and continued to live as time went on and as he grew up he kept his nature side, as he always had a strange kin to it so he continued to embrace it learning from the animals how to hunt and how to survive to live. He frequented the towns and cities of aldion selling what he found or made for small amounts of coin, he took different people inside the forests like new adventures so they can try and understand their environments without hesitation, they always started to trust him slightly because of my knowledge on the forest and creatures, and my cheerful smile that seemed to make the travels fun and enjoyable. On some of his outings to town he kept seeing the true blunt side of a monarchy, and peoples hatred and it also effecting him on things he kept trying to do as he was treated awful and like a lowlife, well sadly that only got worse as one day he was traveling out to the woods like normal, he was warning the people about the different territories of the creatures to stay clear if they see certain man made marks, unknown to me one of the mark i made to keep away from a dangerous animals land had been scratched up on one of its hunts, and he didn't notice one of the newbies heading into it just for some berries as a light snack. All he heard were the screams of the kid, as we all rushed to save them i told everyone to just stay back as releasing the territory he also stopped at its edge, he knew there was nothing he could do to stop it, soon word got around town and painted me as the evil one and received even more hatred he had to flee south to caldar. He made it there luckily very quickly using his skills from home and started roaming around the edges of caladr, making new friends inside ironrim people seemingly taking a nice liking to him, a few elves started showing him around laughing making jokes asking about where each came from using basically the last of his coin for drinks and food, this went on for a few weeks one of the elves Brywynn Eagerbeam and cheerful female summer elf told me about this fun little town called owlreach, she went on about its location and feeling of seclusion because of its wooding and seems perfect for me by how our chats go, she even let out there's supposed to be a carnival rolling in there in about a months time. I thought it over quickly gave her a hug and said goodbye to them each Theris Farmoon a more serious type male winter elf, and firm hug and handshake to Oriynore Silverguard a stern but kind female elf guard, then finally a long hug Ililen Summerfall a male summer elf that was almost like a brother/father figure to him that he never had. He gave them all a kind wave and he started heading out towards owlreach, after a week and half he finally reached the village he did what he needed to survive helping out different villagers making friends, just enjoying his new peaceful life waiting for the carnival to roll in and see why people were so excited to for it, then that fateful day came.

Father- Unknown Mother- Gertrude "Gerdie" Endoxos. Both are still at home working the family farm.

From the age of 8 he worked the fields from sun up to sundown, and as he he grew older he found that much of the work others needed oxen to do, he could do on his own. The long times spent working in the fields did not dampen his spirits, as he regularly conversed with his parents and any hired help that was working at the farm.

Belethor always felt he was called to do something greater than farm work. He began to notice a burning in his chest, a certain warmth that filled him whenever he would offer his evening prayers to Arzen. Any of his superior officers and his family. His former sweetheart Sarilana, whom he left behind when he joined the legion.

Backstory

Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.)

Grew up in the forest lands of Razorleaf in the north. I became agile and familiar in the elven architecture hopping across building tops and racing through the forests.

Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now?

My mother and father were brilliant astronomers both. Taught me the means of star gazing and celestial history. They raised me well in a loving home outside the main city. They were killed by a necromancer travelling through town. He'd robbed my parents and burnt down the building before leaving me in the house to die.

How did your attribute scores affect your character?

My strengthened abilities were honed over the years of navigating my surroundings like a monkey through the trees or running across rooftops. I trained to become a holy warrior to spread righteous justice through beauty and truth.

What made your character obtain the class they have now?

Although vain and sensational, I genuinely believe my devotion toward all that is beauty can spread unanimous good throughout the lands. Because of this, I humbly travel the world spreading my beliefs and transforming the places I visit for the better.

What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start?

Before joining my current party, I'd been travelling solo as a pilgrim spreading my devotion toward beauty and justice. Sometimes I'd work as a mercenary for justice, pursuing criminals and aiding townspeople as I went.

What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers?

My parents raised me to believe in the power of truth and justice. Through my own pursuit as a holy warrior, I found self worth and holy servitude in leaving a structured life as a warrior, instead focusing on travelling and spreading my good word as a pilgrim.

Which people are important for your character?

I met Sister Teddy upon bringing a young, dying boy into town. She saved him, and I immediately took an appreciation toward her gifted abilities to heal. Her ugliness disgusted me, and I'm now making it my mission to correct her inappropriately hideous nature. In this pursuit, I met Cornelia, a gifted wizard who may be able to help me correct Sister Teddy's appearance. If Cornelia studies long enough, she may be able to work some magic to fix Sister Teddy's appearance.

What connections does your character have to the other player characters?

I've found comradery and goals working with Sister Teddy and Cornelia. In our own time together, we stumbled upon Fenthick, a talented ranger with a proficiency in handling trouble. His hideous appearance has equally spurred me to make it my mission to find a worldly cure to correct the ugliness that spreads throughout the land.

Name a promise you have made to another player character that you would never break.

I will promise to do everything in my power to help the ugliness that has plagued Sister Teddy and Fenthick. They have inspired a new longing in me to find a means to rid the lands of ugliness like theirs.

If nothing happened, what short/long term goals does your character have?

My long term goals are to spread beauty, justice, and truth throughout the world. In the short term, I'm traveling and helping others as I can as a hired mercenary and agent of the crown. When worthy work appears, I make myself useful. When I'm not working on side jobs and requests of the places I travel to, I'm finding new means of creating beauty, transforming others into more beautiful beings, and finding an ultimate "cure" to ugliness.

What makes your character a likeable adventurer that others would be willing to have to risk their lives for?

Although a seemingly shallow elf, people find Vigo as a genuinely caring individual. His motivations at first seem ridiculous, but after getting to know why he pursues truth and justice in the name of beauty, people understand his intentions are to bring good to the world. He wants the best possible outcome for all good people, and genuinely believes this can best be accomplished through beautifying the world and the people in it.

What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?

The biggest regret is not being in his parent's shop the day they were murdered. If he'd been there, he could have tried to prevent their needless murder. He was supposed to be there that day, and will always feel the sting of regret knowing he'd made a selfish and costly mistake.

Are there any people that would wish harm to your character and why?

Vigo has a target on his back from many outlaws and criminal organizations he's fought and dealt with. Vigo works in the name of the crown and for his Goddess, leaving those with ill intentions and criminal motivations to see Vigo as a common enemy.

Overview

[Type below:] Write a short (around 100 words) overview of who your character is. Content, written in orange letters like this, will not be visible when you are done. It's simply there to provide guidance]

his name is Brig Alden he is a half-elf Barbarian who was born of a human father and a half-elf mother. His family is a bloodline of nobility, have always been modest in terms of material means but their kindness and virtue were synonymous with the Alden name where even those from outside the village might hear the name and feel at ease. His Father died before he was born while he was travelling and his mother took care of him until she died as he was at the tender age of 6. Then his Grandfather who was also the chief of the village (from his father's side) took care of him for 2 years when he dies as well. On his deathbed his grandfather entrusted the small child to his Uncle who cared for him as if he was his own son and was raised amongst his uncle's children and learnt almost everything he knows from said uncle. Brig is now 20 years old, known to be honest and kind in his humble community and he helps his Uncle as a shepherd.

Early Life

[Type below:] Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max] The locations don't have to be named. It can be described. Growing up locations play a role on what your character knows about the area. Some races might have specific locations they came from. If uncertain, ask the DM.
He grew up and still calls home the modest village his ancestors lived in, Dunesveil is a small town in the desert with a population of 200-300 people where community and camaraderie is visible in every aspect of life, there is a good selection of domestic wildlife like sheeps, cows, and camels. As well as natural produce like dates and such.
[Type below:] Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max] name at least 2 characters, preferably 3-4, that played an important role in your upbringing.
First My character's mother until he was 6, then his grandfather till 8, then his uncle until present day where is 20 years old. They taught him to always be close to family and never cut relations, to be kind and helpful to those in need especially if they are your neighbors. By the age of 10 he would start going on his people's yearly summer and winter journey where they would go north in the summer and south in the winter to trade. At first he helped with carrying items and look at the new sights but as he grew older he would start helping with the negotiation and picking of the produce.
[Type below:] How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max] How did your strengths and weaknesses formed your life? For instance, did a 20 STR push you into manual labor, as you could handle it easily? Did a low CON make you often sick and had to travel to the capital for medicine? Did a high CHA make it easy to make friends?
Brig was very average in most things, he did however show above-average strength and constitution likely thanks to his upbringing in helping around with the town's manual labor. Offering a helping hand carrying everything no matter how big or small even if realistically he can't pull it off slowly but surely increased his strength to where he is now relied upon on anything of that nature. His endurance and stamina also put him as a favorite in the town's autumn and spring journey where he could cross long distances without needing as many breaks.

Defining Events

[Type below:] What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max] Why did you become a Fighter and not a Barbarian? What incident pushed you to your class choice?
While his cousins were more skilled fighters Brig had a powerful level of focus that seem to heighten his senses to an almost superhuman state, where an inkling of something being off gives him that extra edge in dodging a booby trap or time seemingly slowing down as he strikes down his axe to pinpoint the best place to hit for the most damaging blow possible, other than his lifelong connection to nature that is what pushed him to become a Barbarian.
[Type below:] What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max] In the last 2–3 years, what had your character been doing?
Brig is a Farmer and a Shepherd by trade and very trustworthy in his community, where people would leave their money with him knowing that he will not cheat them out of their money or try to steal it and that he will keep it safe by all means. He lives a dull life before the campaign's start but to him it is very fulfilling, he is surrounded by people he loves and who love him and is doing what he loves despite it might seem boring to others.
[Type below:] What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max] Nobody decides to endanger themselves without good reason. Were you forced to leave your previous lifestyle? What happened that changed you from a safe job, like a farmer, to an adventurer?
Regarding this question and since we are starting at level 1 I had hoped that we answer this in the campaign. As in I am a Farmer until session 1 where something happens that changes me into an adventurer, whether it be me being forced to leave my previous lifestyle or some sort of moral principle Brig has that makes him want to become an adventurer even at his own risk.
[Type below:] What short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max] If the world continued in its peaceful state, what would you'd be working towards for?
To share peace across the entire world, maybe become a local leader or adjudicator where the people willingly entrust their matters with Brig knowing he is a just man. Or become a wealthy merchant to turn his modest village into something that could be considered a city or even a capital.

Relationships

[Type below:] Which people are important for your character? [75 words max] Who does your character consider important at the start of the campaign? Name at least 2 other people
His Uncle and his cousins he has the deepest bond with, his uncle the equivalent of his father and his cousins the equivalent of his siblings, there is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Also the people of Dunesveil he has a special place in his heart for them and if they ask for his help he would gladly lend a hand without expecting a reward in return.
[Type below:] What connections do your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max] communicate with the other players and create two positive connections with two other player characters. Could have been friendship, coworkers, family relation or any relation that results in some degree of trust

[Type below:] Name an agreement you have made to another player character that you would honor. [75 words max] Communicate and agree on what agreement your character has made to one of the two other characters (you have connections to), that you wouldn't break.

[Type below:] What are some good personality qualities that your character has as an adventurer? [75 words max] To ensure that the group doesn't have problematic characters everyone else will hate, tell us why would others trust and like your character as a fellow adventurer
Brig is very noble in heart, much like his fathers before him. He always helps and puts others before himself. Brig lives by the motto “We are a people like kings, we never ask but if we are given we never reject.” so while he might not ask for rewards if he does any favor but he would never turn it away to avoid seeming rude. He is a very likeable person and his humble upbringing leaves few people being envious of him.

Flaws

[Type below:] What personality trait of your character has been proven problematic?[75 words max] What are your character plans on dealing with it or improving themselves?

While he may be forgiving he is not very tolerant. His short-sightedness might make him jump the gun trying to be the hero without planning or thinking about the consequences that will follow his actions regardless of if it was justified or not. He also is a very slow learner. While his knowledge of the desert, surroundings of dunesveil and the following trade route north and south might seem impressive to outsiders that is only because he has spent the majority of his life learning them. Any new skill or piece of knowledge only comes after long sleepless nights and a ton of hardwork.

Overview/Backstory

Cydric Shroudwalker came forth from an unimportant collection of shamanistic Dragonborn who were lead to a grove, said to be lead by visions granted to the founders of the Grove by a Dragon. From that founding the community began to acquire a greater attunement to the natural world and suffused the very earth with the brilliance of life in reverence to the great Guardians of Nature, the Dragons themselves. Perhaps it was due to the short lifespans of those gemstone dragonborn that the shamans and druids of this Grove seemed to be better at communing with the spiritual and natural- as well as specializing in their own types of shamanism. Specifically related to dreams and divining their meanings.

It was this connection to dreams which started Cydric's journey into the Dungeon itself, seemingly called to it by the beckoning related to the very Guardians of Nature themselves. Saying goodbye to his friends and family, he made this a pilgrimage of sorts! Amongst the Grove he was a shaman's apprentice, hoping to grow in his connection as his Father and Mother had- to become a Shroudseer. So this mission he took upon himself to go learn the wisdoms of the natural world found in a dangerous, but exciting place.

Much was unknown to the younger Dragonborn as he began this journey, holding an intellect that fell short when it came to the aspects of the cities and more civilized worlds- he would soon meet some new friends that would teach him much of this world. He only could hope he can help others grow and flourish as they did him.

Overview

Remornia is a half-elf female in her early twenties. Her features, sharp, seem almost harsh for a half-elf of her age. Her eyes, once a light blue, now sit like deep red garnets in her pale white complexion, while her uncharacteristically light grey hair seems perfectly kept at all times. For those who have known her all her life, she seems different after that night in the forest... As for herself - well, she'd argue that night was only the beginning.

Early Life

Remornia grew up in the orphanage of Elmfall. She formed a close bond with another orphan, a half-elven boy named Orthus. The two, inseparable, were prone to getting themselves into trouble - be it due to Remornia's pride or Orthus' temper. From a young age, the two were joined at the hip, despite an obvious difference in their respective temperaments. In their early teens, the pair decided to leave the orphanage in search of glory and an adventure untold, taking up trades and other odd jobs before opting to set off on an even greater adventure.

They pair shared everything, held no secrets, and their relationship grew closer with each passing day. Orthus was reliable, nimble, and quick to act, while Remornia was clever and sometimes outright devious. Both found they had a knack for charming their way into (or out of) various situations and found it easy to strike up conversations with whomever they met. Neither possessed any noteworthy physical strength, but found they had an affinity for the crafting and arcane, with Remornia taking a more recent liking to the world of religions and less conventional magics.

Defining Events
A short few weeks ago, Remornia heard rumours of a vampiric cult in the nearby Forest of Many Colours. While the townsfolk seemed unsettled by this prospect, Remornia found herself deeply intrigued. The rumours spoke of untold magics and incredible powers. These prospects of immortality, supernatural abilities and the ticket to a new society excited her and beckoned her into the forest, at whatever cost. It was only after she awoke hours later, covered in dried blood and forest vegetation that she realised what she'd done. She was stronger somehow... magical... in a way she'd never felt before. And all it cost was a pact for her soul.

Relationships

Orthus is Remornia's closest companion - her best friend and dearly beloved. Despite her recent changes, Remornia and Orthus share a deep and enduring bond. Their understanding and shared history anchor them, even as their quests for power take them on different journeys. Elmfall may be in their past, but their connection remains unbroken and unwavering. Despite her initial concerns, Orthus has seemed strangely understanding and supportive of her recent character development. While she harbours a deep-set guilt for endangering him, she remains convinced that her new-found abilities will help to protect and advance their cause as they set out on their next adventure.

Remornia, despite her somewhat unconventional nature is an undoubtedly charismatic creature. Since a young age she's found a natural affinity for reading people and situations, a talent - she's found - that has greatly aided her in navigating the whims of strangers and fate alike. While she's no empath, Remornia prides herself or her ability to articulate the needs of those around her and to find common ground where seemingly none exists.

Flaws

Remornia has taken a recent and rather unsettling interest in occult teachings - Never having considered herself the religious type, her recent interactions with a prominent vampiric cult has clearly changed in more ways than one.

Backstory

Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max]

Kes was born on Blackden, to a large family of Githyanki.  The family is proud of their martial history and most are devout Izalith followers.

Kes’s current residence, if you could call it one, is the “Forest of Mist”.  He does visit Shadebough Falls when he needs a bit of humanoid contact, but currently doesn’t have a true home, nor does he desire one.

Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max]

Kes was raised by his father (Vr’a’ac) and his primary wife (J’a’sath).  Kes’s birthmother (Jelru) was a concubine, one of many.

As far as Kes knows, the family continues on as usual, although Vr’a’ac may be getting on in years, and an ambitious heir may be looking to supplant him.

How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max]

Vr’a’ac the Black, a somewhat renown pirate, took it to be his duty to raise the next generation of Githyanki by having as many wives and concubines as possible.  He was determined that his legacy live beyond him, and raised his children for a live of strife and conquest, and to prepare for the Night of Schemes.

Kes was a quick (Dex 19), and intelligent (Int 16) child who excelled at both weapons practice and class work, but he was not well liked by his siblings (Cha 6), who were jealous of him.

As Kes grew into a young adult, the yearly Game of Schemes became more serious, and after his older brother “Ves” betrayed Kes and almost caused his death; Kes ran away from home and joined a pirate ship crew unaffiliated with the family.

Kes left behind a little sister (Trys’a’an), who he regrets leaving.

What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max]

Eventually, making his way to a Shadebough Falls, Kes made the acquaintance of Arvastan the Druid and his apprentice Leokas.  Arvastan introduced him to a hunter in the Forest of Mists (Caleb Villarreal).

Kes found that he greatly enjoys the life of a hunter, the quite stalking, and the open outdoors.

What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max]

In the past few years, he has continued hunting the Forest of Mists, and started studying nature magic with Aravstan.

Recently after contracting SMS, he has occasionally been accompanying Leokas in the search for a cure.

What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max]

Kes one night overheard some of the senior crew plotting to hide some magical goods that were stolen from a recent conquest, and that they had apparently done such things before and where.

Kes wasn’t seen overhearing the conversation, but somehow folks have become suspicious.  After barely surviving a provoked duel, Kes realized that his days aboard this ship were numbered, and he left without fanfare when given an opportunity.

Which people are important for your character? [75 words max]

While Kes feels somewhat betrayed by his family, he still holds respect for this Father.

Kes still cares for his younger sister Trys’a’an.

Kes is fond of his hunting mentor Caleb Villarreal.

Arvastan has started to teach Kes nature magic, but it hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

Kes certainly wants to support Leokas in his search for cure to SMS.

What connections does your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max]

Recently, both Kes and his mentor Caleb have contracted SMS in the Forest of Mists.  Kes will support Arvastan and Leokas in their search for a cure.

Name a promise you have made to another player character that you would never break. [75 words max]

Kes has promised to assist Leokas in the search for cure to SMS.  Both for his own cure and that of his mentor Caleb, who is both older and human and thus there exists greater urgency.

If nothing happened, what short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max]

Even without the spider apocalypse, Kes would have learned what he could being a hunter, and moved on.  Growing up Githyanki, he has never expected a life free of conflict and turmoil, and only through increased aptitude could he achieve some measure of contentment and self-worth.

What makes your character a likeable adventurer that others would be willing to have to risk their lives for? [75 words max]

Kes doesn’t know it, but he is searching for a “family”.   He has always wanted someplace to belong, but first his siblings betrayed him, and then he fell out with the pirate crew.

I suspect in the beginning, his ties with Leokas, and their mutual search for the cure to curse of the “Forest of Mists” will be the reason he is with the party, but if they can earn his trust and respect, Kes will certainly reciprocate.

What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?[75 words max]

Kes regrets leaving his sister Trys’a’an behind when he left the family.

Are there any people that would wish harm to your character and why?[100 words max]

His old pirate crew would like Kes dead to insure their secret.

Some of his siblings may not care for how he left the family.

Overview/Backstory

When I was young, I lived in the mountains with my family and tribe. We were attacked by a much larger force, who sold into into slavery working for a circus. I learned juggling and acrobatics, but a few years ago I became strong enough to fight back and break out. I ran away, and make my living as an adventurer. My people were proud warriors, and I strive for glory in battle for myself and my clan, or now my party. I am not impressed by wealth and prestige. Show me your skills in battle or other areas if you want to impress me.

Events

My group made it past the first floor, defeating the frost giant and earning the special skills he imbues. I have also come across a magical axe called Deathly Lucky, and a magical beer keg that can be used as a weapon. I also killed a ballywog while riding a horse.

Status

Axe Hammer's Deathly Luck finally ran out when he missed a target so bad that he died of embaressment.

Backstory

Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max]

Marina grew up in the nation of Merna, within the inner water part of the land. Her home consisted of her mother (Malachita Sandstone), father (Aqua Brinestorm), grandmother (Saphira Seaspray), two sisters (Onyxia & Opala Brinestorm) and 3 brothers (Verdan, Sky & Cyan Brinestorm), among their tribe that had small, underwater village. She spent her first 18 years there, before she began her adventure of exploration and self-discovery. After which, she had spent 3 years travelling to new nations & islands, before eventually making it to Unified Caldar.

Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max]

Marina's grandmother Saphira - who she imagines still lives a casual life back home - came to Merna to seek shelter from other nations and would often tell stories of her time spent outside, before eventually finding sanctuary here. These stories, as well as those told by one of Marina's few friends, those of a Lizardfolk named Grizzt Snarlsnap - a refugee from the Blasted Lands living in the southern marshlands near the inner ring of water - , were what stymied the fantasies that Marina would often picture in her mind of grand adventures she'd one day pursue. It might not seem like much of a connection, but to Marina, they fostered and kindled a great, burning passion within her to seek out and fill her life with excitement and wonder.

How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max]

Marina was an intellectual among peers lacking in such strengths. She had a thirst for knowledge and stories that couldn't be slaked by the waters of Merna's isolation. Her home and people knew nothing outside of their own customs, rituals and personal disputes. She had no interest in such things, opting to keep herself out of conflict with her dexterous and graceful movements. Even her parents had a hard to wrangling their daughter, though if they did manage to outmaneuver her, she would have a hard time resisting. Her lithe figure never did take well to protein. While not the most charismatic, it was not for a lack of effort. Her tribespeople simply weren't interested in the fantasies that riddled Marina's thoughts. In the end, Marina thought it best to seek a lifestyle elsewhere, as she would never experience growth if she remained in the stagnant waters of Merna.

What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max]

Her time spent in Blackden after pirates had raided the vessel she was a passenger on lead her to apply her natural talents as a Water Genasi, along with the lifestyle she had in Merna, to acclimate herself to Blackden's "culture". While she wasn't keen, nor particularly pleased with the work of piracy, that didn't change the fact that she was adept at it. Being a Water Genasi also made work on & in the water much easier.

What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max]

After having spent about a month in the Eratus Empire, getting an understanding of the various races, lands, occupations and economics, Marina managed to secure passage through the Wild Waters on a journey towards the continent of Caldar. That voyage was beset by pirates of Blackden, whereupon Marina spent night on 2 years there, using her cunning, wit and boisterous personality to survive their lifestyle (which isn't much different than Merna's) and infect some of the populace with her fantasies, before eventually managing to secure a means of reaching Darna, where she spent a few months acclimating to the change in culture before moving on to Unified Caldar.

What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max]

Merna is not as safe of a space as one would think. The Slithis Dynasty pays no mind to their territories outside of receiving tribute. Conflicts between Tribes often occur, and the island is split between territorial areas of ruling. The vast majority of races in Merna consist of Merfolk, Sea Elves, Triton, and a few Lizardfolk. Marina has not experienced anything outside of a sheltered life of monotony. She wanted more for herself, outside of simply fighting for & living off of the bounties of the island. She left her home to have new experiences, to learn, to adapt, to live.

Which people are important for your character? [75 words max]

While more of a cryptic voice in her dreams, Marina considers Vermillion to be the most important being in her life, regardless of how present they are in it. If not for him having entered her dreamscape, it may have been much longer before she went on her journey, if at all. In the realms of mortals, Her human guide and teacher Barnabus Thatcher instructed Marina on all things racial, cultural, financial & professional during her time spent in Eratus. It was his basis that set the foundation of Marina's understanding of the land of Arda and her people. There is also her close, personal friend Kiwi, a Kenku that she befriended and that taught her all the important lessons in adaptability during her time spent in Blackden. She was an invaluable teacher and got Marina caught up in many a hijinks.

What connections does your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max]

During her time spent in Blackden, Marina encountered many unique individuals and used her natural-born talents to ensure fewer deaths by drowning when a ship left harbor to go on raids. She often would make friends with them afterwards, seeing as she did save their life after all. It's great being owed debts! Such was the case for Kes, a Githyanki "citizen" of Blackden, with whom she would later travel with as she made her way to Caldar, stopping by Shadebough Falls on the way and meeting a young Human physician by the name of Leokas. The three of them got to know one another for a tenday before Marina would depart and continue her journey westward, but not before making a promise to the two young boys.

Name a promise you have made to another player character that you would never break. [75 words max]

While spending time in Shadebough Falls, Marina would learn of the unique characteristics of the island; a strange mist that hangs over the forests, which caused an aging affliction on those who spent too much time there. While intriguing, to stay would mean potentially become afflicted herself and reducing the amount of experiences she could have, so she made a promise to Leokas that should she find answers as to the cause - and potentially a cure - to such an affliction while out on her journey westward, she would make sure to return to the island to inform those infected before moving on with her journey.

If nothing happened, what short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max]

Marina would continue to explore Unified Caldar to learn more of her peoples' heritage & ancestry of the nation that was once known as Trovius. Afterwards, should any questions remain unanswered, or her goals fulfilled, she would venture into new lands (perhaps the northern territories of Caldar) to form new bonds and have new experiences, increasing her knowledge of races, cultures, etc.. The world is vast and full of adventure.

What makes your character a likeable adventurer that others would be willing to have to risk their lives for? [75 words max]

Marina is a Water Genasi; everyone loves the Water Genasi. It's just common sense. But even then, she's a bundle of never-ending joy, excitement, merriment, curiosity & wonder. Even if the situation is dire, she'll find a way to express positivity. She's quite capable as a huntress, a gatherer of resources, a survivalist, and as a scout.

What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?[75 words max]

Marina feels that she left the nation of Darna too soon. She felt pressed by her own excitement at the time of arriving on the continent of Caldar to push herself along in her journey of discovery - both of herself and her ancestral home - being so close to Trovius. If she had spent more time in Darna, maybe she would have a deeper understanding of her connection to Vermillion (if that's what it is that she has), as well as how to properly pay that connection forward.

Are there any people that would wish harm to your character and why?[100 words max]

Refer to the optional plot hook below. It is possible that the information she has about said item may induce selective parties to want to inflict harm upon Marina, as a means of extracting said information, as she refuses to share it willingly as it may put those she cares about in danger.
