Sten is a well-meaning but often bumbling manager, full of enthusiasm for his job—though his grasp on how things work is tenuous at best. While he puts on a friendly front, Sten also has a dry, sarcastic edge to his humor, especially when he’s dealing with the more ridiculous parts of his job or the frequent chaos his branch faces.
He's the type to roll his eyes when an adventurer comes to him with yet another overly complex problem and mutter, “Oh sure, why don’t we just ask the dragon nicely to leave? That always works.” His sarcasm comes out most when he’s feeling overwhelmed, but it's usually mild and good-natured, more a defense mechanism than true snark.
Stenrick "Sten" Spikehorn started out as a humble document runner at Acquisitions Incorporated’s headquarters, but through a bizarre series of mishaps (and what he calls “good ol’ Tymora’s luck”), he was promoted to branch manager of the Port Ironspoke franchise. No one else wanted the job, and now Sten finds himself in charge of one of the more chaotic and unpredictable branches in the company.
Though his leadership style leaves much to be desired, Sten’s undeniable luck, loyalty to his crew, and sarcastic wit help him keep things running—albeit barely. He often claims to be more successful than he is, and his stories about his supposed accomplishments are filled with exaggerations, though he usually knows deep down how ridiculous they sound.
Branch Operations:
The Port Ironspoke branch, under Sten’s leadership, mostly handles small-time adventuring contracts—simple deliveries, escorting merchants, and the occasional low-risk treasure hunt. However, due to Sten’s disorganized leadership and tendency to misread contracts, the branch often ends up with dangerous or complicated jobs far beyond its capacity. This has led to frequent close calls and chaotic situations, which Sten handles with a mix of frantic improvisation and sarcastic commentary.
