Saxon Invasion 500

Essex marches unopposed through Silchester County to attack Salisbury. King Idres of Cornwall Kingdom musters the troops and meets the Saxons at Levcomagus in Silchester.

The first day of battle is inconclusive. A messenger from Duke Ulfius of Silchester bears a promise from the duke to attack the Saxons in the rear next day.

Trusting the duke, King Idres next day decides to face the Saxon army again. After several hours, Duke Ulfius held up to his promise and fell upon the Saxons who routed.

While King Idres returned home, the Silchester army harried the Saxons back to Essex, and liberated Hertford and Huntington counties.
