The party arrived in Meadowfen expecting the traditional triumphal entry that heroes of the festival usually get.  Instead everyone was worried about the explosion that had occurred, in the direction of Glenhaven.

Leaving the torch lit by the eternal flame near the bonfire of the festival grounds, the party headed south following some Meadowfen residents who'd left earlier.  On the way they met this group coming back with some others from Glenhaven.  A huge explosion had wiped out much of the crops in the area.  They were heading to Meadowfen to put together some staples to help feed Glenhaven and hopefully find some grain to reseed the ruined crops.

The party continued on down to Glenhaven, curious about what had actually caused the explosion.  They arrived to find the town berating Nula, a young mapach.  Her rabbit Nibbles jumped into the well when the explosion happened and now the town was mad that their water supply would be poisoned by a dead rabbit.

Rather irritated that they were shouting at a child rather than climbing into the well, the party sprang into action and Snow climbed into the well.  At the water line there wasn't a dead rabbit but he did find a passageway that led toward Mokkden Caverns.  The rest of the party climbed down and they began to explore, following the rabbit tracks.

At first it was just a long rough passageway, well over a mile.  Then it opened up a little bit where the rock was more finished.  A couple of sticky slimes attacked the party but were quickly taken care of.  Another part of the cave had rudimentary sleeping quarters.  Everything was old, dust, and falling apart except for a blanket and some studded leather they found in a chest.

Continuing on they arrived in a large chamber with the back of it blown out revealing the devastated crops.  Inside the chamber were five or six creatures that resembled humblefolk (in that they didn't have feathers) but looked more like wild dogs.  Without hesitation they attacked the party.

Most of them used bows but one in the center kept trying to cast spells.  One of his arms was fused into a large rock, in fact there many of the large blocks of rocks (two to three feet square) scattered in the center of the room.  Some of those had body parts fused into them as well, but only bits and pieces like some of these creatures had been blown apart along with the rock.

The creature in the center never did cast a spell and when the tide turned in favor of the party, one of his own killed him before the party could.  It had been a tough fight, nearly losing Cyrus who went down in the middle of the battle.  Standing victorious the party noticed the rubble was beginning to glow purple.  Just as they began to run away another explosion happened and the party lost consciousness for some time.

When the came too the back wall of the cave had collapsed, making the large chamber a little smaller but now hidden from the outside.  Once they made sure everyone was all right, they looked over the bodies of the creatures and found a ring on the spellcaster and some silver coins on several others.  They also found the body party of another creature, an arm with a grayish purrple hue.

Most interesting was an anti-magic zone in the middle of the room.  Whatever had exploded the first time had left a small (roughly) 20 foot cube where the weave couldn't be accessed.  Or perhaps the anti-magic zone is what caused the explosion.  The party wasn't sure.

While searching, Nibbles hopped out from a corner of the cave.  Clearly not a rabbit, it had the characteristics of several different animals.  Dune was pretty sure it wasn't a natural creature.

They cleared a small path in the rubble leading outside and took the amphibian looking arm and one of the other dead creatures with them.

Checking in with Glen Hedgewood, the mayor, he suggested they go see Evy Ashwood.  She was the most knowledgable person in the area and might now something about what these creature actually were.
