When Thervan closes the door behind him, Kal immediately asks him what is up with him looking at Penny all the time. She gets that she is beautiful, but she’s way too young for him. He promises her that it is nothing like that, and indeed, he is way too old for any of them, him being 1653 years old and all. But he promises her that it is nothing dangerous or concerning, at least not for now, but Kal doesn’t budge, she has noticed something being off ever since she noticed him giving a thoughtful look during the Queens speech at her coronation. She asks if she is a distant princess or something.
Thervan gives her a surprised look, and tells her that she now knows something most people don't. He begs her not to tell anyone else, as it is a closely guarded secret that he doesn't want to be revealed until the time is right, if it ever is. If Satine lives and has an heir, then nobody needs to know, but he laments the fact that the other dukes and the duchess are not happy with the current situation, hinting at turmoil behind the scenes. Kal thinks that it is a bad idea, considering how free and careless Penny can be at times, but Thervan says that if the time were to come, she would not be alone. Kal hopes it doesn't come to that, and if it does, give her a headband of intellect or something. Thervan laughs, saying that is actually a property of the crown, among others.
Thervan says if she wants to know more they should research more about the previous kings and kingdoms, and leaves it at that. They then head back to retrieve the others.
