As the second descendant of the lineage of Earthen Avatars, Roc inherited leadership over the expansive Earth Kingdom founded by Avatar Umber. Despite this, great strife unfolded during his reign with bloody civil wars breaking out between the native Earth Genasi, Dwarfs, and Orcs which all claimed dominance over the other, utilizing their own unique Earth-Rifting abilities. Avatar Roc was instrumental in quelling the civil war which unfolded for hundreds of years, ultimately finding peace after he dispatched of the rival warlords which had initially instigated the feud. In his later years, Roc began stabilizing the Earth Kingdom and founded much of its longstanding tradition, along with developing unique arcane forms of Earth-Rifting including Metal-Rifting. During this expansionary period, Umber would begin an established connection with the westward realm of The Sun Realm and its resident Solirs. Developing a unique relationship with Avatar Lumina, the two would eventually fall in love and bear a child named Talyen. Although he didn't know it at the time, this secret relationship with the Sun Avatar would have devastating consequences as it was later taken advantage of by risen Malekith. Killing his true love, Avatar Lumina and destroying Itela, Roc was enraged by the actions of Malekith and gathered the Exarchs of the Earth and ancient Runewrights to put an end to the deceivers reign of destruction. Facing him in destructive combat atop the now The Isle of Ember, an epic battle of never foreseen proportion took place, lasting days, and causing the complete destruction of the landscape for all of time. Eventually after the death of nearly all the Runewrights and Exarchs of the Earth save for Talus and Avatar Roc himself, Malekith was sealed away in a risen tomb pyramid of enforced stone, etched in powerful warding runes to forbid his return to the world from ever occurring again. The victory was pyrrhic, however, as Avatar Roc was mortally wounded, and Talus cursed to be banished forever from The Earth Realm in a last spiteful act of the risen Sun Avatar. Rocs final moments were only known to Talus, before he passed on and continued the lineage of avatars with Avatar Terra succeeding him.
