Soulmonger Crystal

The Soulmonger crystal was a ruinous creation of Valekiths mad genius. Devised in the early ages of creation, during the age of the Mytharil Empire, Valekith created a necrotic crystal with the ability to siphon the souls of mortals and utilize it as a powerful arcane energy. Emplaced underneath the Floating City of Netheril, the crystals consumed thousands of souls to enable the Valekith to open a rift to The Shadowfell in order to escape the impending Continuum Crisis. In recent ages, Valekith activated the crystals to consume the souls of nearly every creature fighting within the Battle of the Four Armies, and subsequently the City of Evernight as well.
