Surtur

Lord of The Frenzied Flames
Elemental Titan

Surtur, also known as Lord of The Frenzied Flames (or the Forge Father), is revered as the formidable titan god of the Fire Giants. His origins trace back to the Elementari of Magma and Fire, ancient beings of unimaginable power that roamed the world during the Second Age: Twilight of Creation. When the Unknown deities and the Dragon Realms waged their great war to bring order to the chaos wrought by these titans, Surtur was among those who stood defiant against their might. Unlike many of his titan-kin who were destroyed or scattered, Surtur was banished to the Unknown by the Unknown in an attempt to weaken his influence. However, this act only served to further amplify his power, as Surtur became one with the frenzied flames as he gained divine sentience for the first time in eons.

Surtur is depicted as an immensely large fire giant, his imposing form wreathed in crackling flames that replace his hair and eyebrows. His eyes burn with the intensity of molten magma, and his very presence radiates overwhelming heat. His signature weapon is a greatsword, 15 feet (4.6 meters) in length, eternally ablaze with fire that can melt even the toughest of metals. Surtur's armor is forged from molten magma, a testament to his dominion over fire and destruction. The iron that forms his armor is incredibly hot, glowing with an inner heat that makes it nearly untouchable by mortal hands.

Nearly all of Surtur's worshippers are Fire Giants, who view him as the embodiment of their ideals—strength, dominance, and the purifying power of fire. Surtur teaches that fire is both a tool and a master, a force of nature that must be respected and feared. To the Fire Giants, Surtur's teachings are not just religious dogma but a way of life. The weak and impure are meant to be consumed by the flames, while the strong survive and thrive, reshaping the world in their image.

Despite his overwhelming power and fiery wrath, Surtur's influence extends beyond the Fire Giants. A select few members of other races have earned his approval, though they often conceal their devotion to avoid the ire of their own kin. These rare devotees understand that fire, while dangerous and uncontrollable, is also a source of unparalleled strength and renewal.

Surtur's influence over the Unknown is immense, particularly in areas where the veil between the mortal plane and the Plane of Fire has thinned after the Conjunction of the Realms. This is especially true in the volcanic and mountainous regions where the Fire Giants dwell. Under his command, legions of Fire Giants, led by the formidable Unknown, wage war in his name, spreading flames and destruction wherever they go.

Surtur is more than just a god to the Fire Giants; he is the living embodiment of the flames that consume the world. His power is such that even the elder gods, in their attempt to banish him, could not fully contain his wrath. Instead, they inadvertently made him stronger by casting him into the Plane of Fire, where he became one with the very element he controlled.

To those who worship Surtur, fire is seen as pure, cleansing, and strong. It is a force that tests the mettle of all who encounter it, burning away the weak and leaving only the strong to survive. However, fire is also dangerous when uncontrolled, a fact that Surtur himself embodies. His worshippers are taught to respect the power of fire, using it as a tool for domination while also recognizing its potential to consume all in its path.

Surtur's legacy is one of destruction and conquest. His followers, the Fire Giants, carry out his will by waging war on those they deem unworthy, burning cities and civilizations to the ground in a relentless quest for power. Surtur's influence is felt not just in the Fire Realm but across the world, as his flames continue to burn, reshaping the world in his fiery image.

Surtur's power is eternal, his flames never ceasing to burn. Even in the depths of the Plane of Fire, he remains a force to be reckoned with, his influence extending far beyond the mortal plane. As long as there are those who worship fire and seek its power, Surtur's legacy will endure, a reminder of the destructive potential of the element he embodies.

In the Fire Realm and beyond, Surtur is a god who demands respect, his wrath a constant threat to those who would challenge his dominion. He is the flame that burns at the heart of the Fire Giants, a god whose power is as relentless and unforgiving as the fire itself.
