Morai

This character is dead.
Oracle of Death

Morai, one of the revered Oracles of Oblivion, was a paragon of the Fyrashan Spirit Seers, embodying the inevitable touch of death. Charged with leading rituals of passage for his people, Morai was both a spiritual guide and a fearsome enforcer of natural law. His role extended to taking the lives of intruding Khaos marauders, ensuring that their destined end arrived as decreed by the unseen forces that govern existence.

Morai’s reverence for the cycle of life and death made him a staunch protector of the natural order, a duty he held above all else. Through his chilling gaze and ethereal power, he sought to maintain the balance that binds the living and the dead.

Appearance

Morai’s ghastly pallor and spectral blue eyes reflected his connection to the Spirit Plane and his role as an arbiter of death. Draped in a tattered black robe adorned with ancient glyphs of passage, he bore an otherworldly presence. His chilling touch, infused with the power of death, was both a weapon and a symbol of his unyielding resolve to maintain balance.

As the Oracle of Death, Morai could sense the threads of destiny, guiding lost spirits to their rightful rest or intervening when the balance was threatened. He was revered as a grim, yet necessary force in the Unknown tradition.

Lineage and Origins

It is believed that Morai descended from Verdictus, a renowned Mythar Adjudicator of the Mytharil Empire. Verdictus, a noble and just arbiter, was falsely accused by the treacherous Valekith of fracturing The Continuum Crystal He was executed by Emperor Ezekiel for this crime, an act later revealed to be a grave miscarriage of justice. However, Deimos, the god of death, recognized Verdictus's unwavering dedication to justice and granted him a second chance as the Judge of the Dead in the Plane of Oblivion.

This legacy carried through to Morai, whose life was steeped in a profound understanding of fairness and retribution. Unlike his ancestor, Morai served as a mortal bridge between realms, guiding souls to the afterlife which subsequently aides Verdictus in exacting punishment on those who disrupted the cycle.

Final Days

Morai met his end during the dark days of the Chosen of Khaos. Tracked to the heart of the Forlorn Flames of Fyrashan atop Mt. Ylvan, Morai valiantly defended the sacred grounds of his people. In his final moments, he faced Rhuthar, a Frost Goliath warrior and devoted servant of Valkur, the Khaos God of War. Despite his advancing years and the overwhelming odds, Morai unleashed the full extent of his ethereal powers, vanquishing Rhuthar in a fierce battle.

However, the effort left Morai weakened, and he was eventually overwhelmed by the relentless onslaught of the Chosen of Khaos. His death marked a tragic loss for the Fyrashan, but his sacrifice ensured that the Veil of Valkur remained intact to shield his people from further incursions.

Legacy

Morai’s name is enshrined in Fyrashan history as a symbol of unwavering justice and dedication to the balance of life and death. His deeds are remembered in the Occult of Oblivion, a sacred text preserved by the Spirit Seers. Even in death, his legacy inspires his people to uphold the delicate harmony that defines their existence.
