In a quest to uncover crucial information about the elusive High Priest Ishmael, adventurers Septimus Lucien and Haellae Colaerth ventured into the ancient crypts beneath the Tomb of the Suns Eclipse. Their objective led them to a grand sarcophagus, bearing the name of the first Sultan, Mehmed Atis.
As Septimus and Haellae attempted to open the imposing sarcophagus, they inadvertently triggered ancient magic that awakened the slumbering Mehmed Atis. Alongside him, the sarcophagi of his loyal Janissary Order guards, entombed opposite his resting place, began to stir. The guards, mummified and bound to eternal vigilance, prepared to defend their Sultan even in death.
Confronted with the awakened Sultan and his guardians, the two adventurers found themselves in a precarious situation. However, Septimus and Haellae managed to convince Mehmed to hear their plea. They proposed a deal: in exchange for valuable information about High Priest Ishmael, they would grant Mehmed and his guards the peace of a proper death, allowing their spirits to pass on under the Serrakhan Sun and be judged by Deimos, the god of the dead.
Mehmed, weary from centuries of restless undeath and longing for release, agreed to their terms. He imparted critical information about Ishmael's dark rituals, his connection to Malekith, and the impending threat of the Revenant Titan. In return, Septimus and Haellae pledged to fulfill their end of the bargain.
True to their word, Septimus and Haellae performed the necessary rites to ensure a proper passing for Mehmed and his guards. Septimus used his sacred blade to destroy the hearts of the mummies, severing the dark magic that bound them to undeath. As each heart was pierced, the guards, one by one, found release from their eternal watch, their spirits freed to move on to the afterlife.
With Mehmed’s heart finally destroyed, the once-great Sultan could rest in peace. His last moments were spent gazing toward the Sun, a reminder of the life and glory he once knew. As his spirit departed, Mehmed expressed gratitude to the adventurers for their compassion and honor in upholding their end of the bargain.
