Jaimus McNulty is the original owner of the Little Shoppe of Curiosities who grew this shop himself until he was able to bring on Jeeves to handle much of the shoppes commerce. He is reputed to have been an adventurer himself in his earlier days, stocking the shelves with things he found on his "excursions" as he was accustomed to calling them.
On death, he left this shop to an unlikely group of adventurers know as The Party. How they manage it is a matter open to interpretation, but old McNulty never had a smooth path and likely wouldn't expect his successor to have it easy either.
