For the most part I don't want the deities to be too complicated. I find "Forgotten Realms" overly complex and un-relatable and prefer to draw inspiration from the pantheons of Earth. With that in mind, I offer the following:
- Elven Gods - Greek Mythos
- Dwarven Gods - Norse Mythos
- Humans - Gods of the Empire for citizens for the empire or The Old Gods who are worshiped by those who were conquered
- Other Races - Some mix of the above, or we can get creative, particularly if you want to run a cleric or paladin.
- Philosophers - Prime amongst them were the Halikarnians who believe our world is an inexact copy of another perfect (plane) place.
