Appearance

Kizzi Sharpnote is a small, wiry kobold, barely three feet tall, with pale sand-colored scales and a frill that flares when she’s nervous (which is often). She wears an oversized Lygos Army tabard with every hem rolled up, plus a satchel stuffed with quills, scrolls, inkpots, ration slips, and rejected recruitment forms.

She walks with her chest puffed out, chin high, tail twitching proudly—so long as Gorran is within twenty feet.

Personality

Kizzi is:

• fiercely loyal to Gorran

• extremely diligent with paperwork

• adorably overconfident

• hopelessly timid if left alone

• convinced she’s terrifying

• not terrifying

She shadow-walks behind Gorran with the seriousness of a knight’s squire but without any of the combat ability. Still, she tries. Her “battle stance” involves holding up a clipboard like a shield.

She calls rookies “maggots” and “pathetic puddles” but only when Gorran is nearby enough to hear her.

Gorran does not acknowledge her organizational feats.
He once said, “The papers sort themselves. I never asked how.”

Kizzi took that as high praise.

Kizzi loves to follow behind Gorran during inspections, glaring severely over the top of her clipboard.

Her favorite lines include:

Rookies respond with solemn nods and suppressed smiles.

What Gorran Thinks of Her

Gorran pays her almost no attention—but he trusts her implicitly.

He never questions:

• the reports she delivers

He’s too focused on yelling rookies into shape.

Still, if anyone insults her within earshot, Gorran’s nostrils flare and he growls:

“Rookies don’t speak ill of staff. Ever.”

Which instantly boosts her confidence tenfold.

🐉 Background

Kizzi grew up in a kobold warren outside Lygos and was always fascinated by the military. She originally applied to enlist but was deemed “too small to carry a backpack.”

Undeterred, she asked if the army needed a clerk.

They did.

She considers this “close enough” to achieving her dream of becoming a great warrior. She recounts her days with Gorran to other kobolds as though she’s a frontline sergeant.

• If the players look physically capable, she’ll glare proudly at them.

• She might tell them they would “never survive the Braysnort Regimen.”

• She takes her job very seriously and can provide information on patrols, schedules, and army procedures.
